When a person perseveres for a purpose, they do it in spite of difficulties, obstacles or discouragements. They come across difficulties, but they press forward. In the Bible we see examples of people who conquered their blessings through their perseverance. One of them being Elijah, he prayed for the rain seven different times. He didn't stop after the second, fifth, or sixth prayer, but until the rain came down.
