One day, when my son was six years old, I lost sight of him in the supermarket. As I walked from aisle to aisle, he walked by my side; he was not the type of child to wander off. But then he saw something interesting and stayed behind while I continued doing my shopping. The moment I looked and did not see him, I panicked. I went from aisle to aisle, but I couldn't find Filipe! My eyes filled with tears and all I could think was, "Please, Jesus, please help me find my son." After ten stressful minutes, I found him sitting quietly at the door waiting for me.I believe most mothers lose sight of their children at some point, not because they are lazy, but because this is one of those things that have to happen to you... I remember the day it happened to me as a kid - I cried. :) Your child certainly does not blame you for that, and deep down you know it's not anyone's fault. It happens.
It is a pity, however, that many people tend to blame God for every misfortune in their lives or in the world. Everything that happens is always God's fault: the little girl who was abused and killed, the father who left the mother for a younger woman, the best friend who died in a tragic accident, the hundreds of people who died in tragedy... Why is it God's fault?
These things happen not because it is the will of God; they are the consequences of a psychotic episode, a bad marriage, a drunk driver, negligence, a political agenda, etc. Where is God in all this? He is waiting for you!
But if you don't turn to God, come to church regularly and obey His Word, don't blame Him!
In faith,
