When Anita found the painful lump in her breast, a lump formed in her throat as well. Not too long ago, two aunts had died of breast cancer, two more from lung cancer, and recently, her young daughter had also died from breast cancer. This family curse had already taken the lives of many in her family, and Anita thought that now it was her turn.

After examining her, the doctor confirmed that she did indeed have a tumor, and judging by her family health history, it was highly likely that the tumor was malignant. After a series of mammograms, he sent her home with instructions to watch for any changes, to come back in two weeks, and if there was even the slightest growth, he would have to operate. Anita was devastated and prayed for God to take away her death sentence.

One day, she came across the church's program. A woman was speaking about how she had been healed of breast cancer after having been given six months to live. She decided to attend the church and there received the prayers and did what the pastors counseled her to do.

When the time to go back to the doctor came, Anita felt confident that God was going to do something amazing for her that day.

Test after test went on all morning. At one point she noticed one of the doctors and nurses staring at one of her test results on a computer screen. They had odd looks on their faces and were mumbling to each other as if they were confused, chuckling, shaking their heads, looking over at her and back again to the screen. That was when Anita felt sure that God was doing something great.

When Anita came back to face the final word of her doctor, all he could say was that the lump was nowhere to be found! The doctors were baffled, because the tests from two weeks earlier all showed a tumor, and yet every detailed test that day showed that there was nothing.

Anita's family curse has been broken for seven years now. She and her husband are happy and healthy, and every week she is praying for others and sharing the power of faith with everyone who is willing to receive it.
