Will the real Jesus please step forward?

imagesJesuses to suit all tastes: Jesus hanging on a cross, Jesus with his heart in his hand, blond and blue-eyed Jesus, Arab-looking Jesus, effeminate Jesus, baby Jesus, good-man-tries-to-help-and-gets-killed Jesus… It looks like we’ll have to run some DNA tests to find the real one.

Is the Jesus you know the true one or the fruit of people’s imagination?

“Who would form a god…
that profits him nothing?” Isaiah 44:1God created man in His own image. But deep down inside of us there is a temptation to create God in our own image. Instead of seeking to know God as He truly is and letting Him change our ways, we’d rather come up with our own version of God – one who agrees with us on everything and, conveniently, also hates all the same people we do. The result is that we can go on living our lives undisturbed by our consciences, can always find a godly excuse for our wrongdoing, and can relax in the presence of a God who is always there to serve us.

That explains the existence of so many religions in the world. And not only all the different religions, but also the different Jesuses that Christians have created in their own minds.

“Deep down inside of us there is a temptation to create God in our own image.”

If these people were to use their intelligence to think about this just a little, they would understand why their faith has been so unprofitable to them. They would see that they’ve been getting very little returns for their spiritual investment. And that would lead them to question whether they have really been serving the true Jesus.

That’s what Paul advised the stubborn Corinthian Christians to do: “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves.” (2 Corinthians 13:5)

If I am in the faith, if I am serving the true Jesus, then my life has to have good results to show for it. Why keep a useless faith in a useless God?

The true Jesus is alive and still doing today what He did in the past. He hasn’t changed to adapt to the world. He hasn’t got old and tired. The real Jesus is not just a historical figure. He is not simply a good man who lived here in the very distant past. He claims to be alive today and to have the solution to all of life’s problems – the key to happiness here and in the life to come. And that’s not me saying this – this is what He said about Himself.

How can you know this is true? Put it to the test. The real Jesus has to help you and make a huge difference in your life. The fake ones will simply be useless to you.

Do you want to know this Jesus, the real one?

The first thing you need to do is to throw away all the religious garbage, the empty traditions, and the pop-philosophies that you’ve accumulated over the years. Sanitize your mind. Quit trying to make God in your own image. And don’t be quick to buy other people’s versions of Jesus.

God bless you!

Definitivamente funciona, todo lo que el Siervo de Dios escribio es verdad, yo personalmente lo comprobe y me funcionó, el verdadero Jesús transformó mi vida.

Welcome to Universal.org
the official website of The Universal Church for North America.

We’re not quite finished yet, as you can see, but we thought we would no longer wait until we had it "perfect" before launch. After all, it is you who can help us make the site better as it evolves. Even though the Spanish and Portuguese versions of our site are now live, it's only as a beta version and we would welcome the help of translators to and from each of the three languages of the site. If you feel you can help, ¡escribanos!

It would be great if you could test out all the sections, but in particular the Bookstore, Forum, and Church Locator.

Please inform us of bugs, glitches, or any other problem you may find. We would also welcome your comments and suggestions — what you feel we got right/wrong, what we missed, and what you would like to see here.

It will be a pleasure to hear from you, no matter how big or small your contribution.

God bless you!
