Growing Old

growingoldMany women would do anything to stop aging. Some pay ridiculously to go on surgery and have their lives threatened by it, others lie through their teeth about their age, and others give up on life and live on a constant depressive state of mind just waiting to get it over with.

Growing old shouldn’t be as complicated as we make it to be. As a matter of fact, to grow old is to live the most of life! Many people didn’t have the chance of turning to 50 or 30 or even 18. When we grow old, we are actually living life to its fullest…

Besides, maturity and experience is only achieved this way. Things that we’ve been through and learned throughout our lives have opened up our eyes and made us more mature, more adult, and even more feminine. There’s nothing better for our own inner self than growing old and experience each moment of our lives. We learn, we change, and we become better women.

Maturity is sometimes the missing piece in a young woman’s life. She dresses, she speaks, she lives like older women but her mind is still too young to understand the whys of this life. And that is why she goes through so many disappointments and hardships.

I remember when I was in my teens and early 20s, being anxious to grow and finally become the woman God intended me to be and it took so long… I bumped my head a few times going from disappointments to embarrassing situations. And all I could think of was how I longed to grow old. And now that I’ve reached the age I so eagerly waited for, I still see so much I still need to learn and experience in my life.

That is why I long to grow old. The older we get, the wiser we become. The older we get, the less mistakes we make. Even in regards to our faith. When we are immature, we often use faith without intelligence and consequently the mistakes and disappointments are evident. But when we mature, our faith is firmer in the Word of God – we use it intelligently and with trust that God is in control.

Growing old in marriage also makes the best years. It is when you know each other better and therefore you are able to handle each other’s weaknesses and mistakes wisely without all the criticism as in the first years of marriage. It is harder to leave each other’s presence and both become one like never before with the same habits and taste, dependent on each other as a husband and wife should be. One can’t stay away from the other. The bed becomes too harsh to sleep alone even with all the pillows you can get.

And for a Christian, the older we get, the younger in heart we become because the Holy Spirit renews our strength and spirit each waking day, so much so that…

“…Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Isa. 40:31

Welcome to Universal.org
the official website of The Universal Church for North America.

We’re not quite finished yet, as you can see, but we thought we would no longer wait until we had it "perfect" before launch. After all, it is you who can help us make the site better as it evolves. Even though the Spanish and Portuguese versions of our site are now live, it's only as a beta version and we would welcome the help of translators to and from each of the three languages of the site. If you feel you can help, ¡escribanos!

It would be great if you could test out all the sections, but in particular the Bookstore, Forum, and Church Locator.

Please inform us of bugs, glitches, or any other problem you may find. We would also welcome your comments and suggestions — what you feel we got right/wrong, what we missed, and what you would like to see here.

It will be a pleasure to hear from you, no matter how big or small your contribution.

God bless you!
The Universal.org Team
