Who really loves?

whoreallyloves

I love writing, reading, taking pictures, making movies, irritating my friends, watching movies, going out with my family, and eating chocolate. The list goes on of course, but that could take up this whole page. We love a lot of things and I think that it's a good sign that we're happy with life - nothing wrong with that. The only problem though is to include God in this list.

The love for God should be way different than this kind of love. You only do these things when you feel like, even though you love them very much. With God on the other hand, love surpasses feelings, emotions, problems, and circumstances. No matter what is happening around you, your love for Him should always be at the top. When that is not true, you find yourself asking questions about Him being there for you and His existence.

And that is where many people get stuck. They say they love God but they're always throwing whys at Him. Real love never says ‘if you love me, you'll do this for me'. Real love gives without expectations. That is what God did for us, that is what those who truly love Him do, and that is when the promise "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Ro 8:28) comes true in our lives.
