A clear picture

I was still inside her womb when my mother pictured my face. She says I turned out to be just like she had pictured back then (that was nice to hear). I was immediately reminded of Jacob and what he had done with his sheep. He had made an agreement with his father-in-law/boss that all the spotted sheep would be his, and upon that agreement, the Bible says that he, "took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches. Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted." (Genesis 30.37 - 39)

Okay, so Jacob was being smart here, but think of how interesting the whole concept is. The sheep would look at an image and later on give birth to cattle that was similar to the image! Quite an extraordinary thing I must say. This means that whenever you want to get anywhere, you've got to see it first in your mind. Be it a career, becoming a homeowner, having a family, and even getting the body you dream of! It must first be clear in your mind. If you can't see it, you won't get it. Many years ago, I pictured myself as a mother of many spiritual children. I didn't know how that would happen but I did know that it was God's dream for me - something that would happen when I worked for it. I decided to give up my right to give birth. It was a vow I made before God. I preferred to have spiritual children instead of natural ones. God honored me.

The amazing truth is that God supports whatever we believe we can achieve. He is 100 percent for it. In fact, it was Him who originally put that dream inside us! Like any good parent, God wants to see us being the best we can be. His plans for us are much better than we can ever imagine, but there's only one thing that stops Him from fulfilling them: our disbelief.

When we believe, we see it, though circumstances around us are saying ‘no way', we can still see it in our minds. It's a clear picture of what we want and where we want to get. Today, I look exactly like the daughter my mother pictured. I can also say, with a lot of happiness in my heart, that I am a mother of many spiritual children. How about you? Where do you see yourself in a few years? How do you see yourself? If you still can't see it, pray that God may show it to you, just don't let time tell you what you'll be. Be the one in control.
