One of the signs that God is inside you is the abandonment of past practices. Carnal practices of someone disobedient to the Father, who lives according to their own will.

Paul wrote to the Colossians:

“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” Colossians 3:8

The Spirit calls us to put ourselves off all these, for the old man has to die for a new man to be created inside us. In the same way that we take off an outfit that no longer suits us and throw it away, we must throw away inappropriate behaviours.

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” Colossians 3:12,13

An elected person usually wears a special outfit for the occasion; Miss Universe, a president or a bride the groom chose. We must have a different outfit when we assume our position as God’s elect.

We were chosen and loved by Him; we are not just anyone. We were elected and must reflect in our behaviour the difference He made in our lives.

We have to exhale kindness and good thoughts from good sources. After all, we are different from each other, and when living with someone, naturally that person will irritate you, and you will irritate them too. Living with other people means we must learn to be tolerant, endure and forgive, give a “discount”, and let go of certain things.

That is, if you have this new outfit and dress as the God’s chosen one.
