FEELING A HUGE WEIGHT? FIND RELIEF HERE
You are feeling a huge weight on your shoulders, but you don't realise there is a way to relieve yourself. Just look at the peace you want, not the things you will "lose"
Psalm 32 brings a word to those who are carrying a huge burden of guilt for things they have done and want repentance: “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered” (Psalm 32:1).
Happy is the one who achieves forgiveness, the one whose sin is resolved, covered, washed and eliminated from their life.
“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit” (Psalm 32:2).
In other words, there is no hypocrisy. If there’s one thing God despises, it’s pretence. And those who act like this have no place in the presence of God because they are already condemned by themselves; because the person who deceives is committing an act of unbelief because they think they can escape in the eyes of God. They are stating that God does not exist.
The person can deceive a human being who has limited knowledge. You can fool someone because they don’t see your heart; they don’t see you in secret. But you can’t fool God. When they do this, they say: “I don’t care what the Lord thinks of me”, or “God does not exist, and what matters is what others think about me”. And therefore, the person condemns themselves because, in this way, they deny the faith. They should be afraid of deceiving.
So, David talks about how he solved his guilt problem. We all know that David covered his adultery for a while. He kept that sin for many months. In the eyes of others, apparently, everything was fine, but inwardly, he carried more than one weight.
“When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long” (Psalm 32:3). Sin ages a person.
“For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer.” (Psalm 32:4).
A dry person: so was David’s spiritual condition, while he covered up his sin.
“I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.” (Psalm 32:5).
The solution to that weight was the confession, that is, pulling off the mask. “I’m ready to pay the price.” There, he arrived at a point of the restoration of his own life. This is relevant for those who carry a huge guilt. You, who are preparing to escape the consequences of sin, why don’t you join forces to cleanse yourself? Where are you going to hide from God and yourself?
