GOOD NEWS: GOD ALLOWS NEW BEGINNINGS!

Is there any area of your life that needs change? God allows you to start over, but it depends exclusively on taking the first step!

God, throughout the history of humanity, has always tried to help the fallen ones and flawed human beings after making mistakes, sometimes even in an “unforgivable” way, and always tried to help them to start over.

We see this throughout the Holy Scriptures. We see when Cain made a mistake on the Altar when he treated the Altar with disdain. When he and his brother, Abel, went to present an offering to God, Abel thought and prepared his offering, wanting to please God. That’s what you should do when you’re going to present an offering to someone. I’m not talking about money here; I’m talking about the offering of your life. When you do something for your wife or husband, children, parents, boss, or client, what you do for someone else is your offering. And if you’re not going to do your best, it’s better not to do anything at all because doing it anyhow is an insult to that person.

Then Abel thought, “I will offer an offering to God-Father, the Creator”. So he got the best sheep. He didn’t pick a sick, lame, skinny sheep. But Cain, treating it as a burden, thought: “I’m a farmer. What do I have to offer? Fruits of the ground. So, what fruits do they have there that I won’t need?” He went and gave a defective, malodorous offering that God didn’t even want to look at. And that’s why God didn’t accept it. However, Cain was angry, and his countenance fell.

“So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it” (Genesis 4:6-7).

In other words, God allowed Cain to try again: “If you do well next time, you will be accepted”. God didn’t punish Cain; he didn’t send thunder upon his head; he didn’t do something wrong. He just said that it wasn’t the best and gave Cain another chance to show that he was better than that.

And so it has been throughout all humanity. The Lord Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more. At all times, God is allowing the human being to start over.

But of course, this new beginning has a limit, which is God’s mercy. God’s mercy, in fact, is renewed every day, but you are not renewed every day; you are getting old, and one day you will die. So, although God’s mercy lasts forever, you don’t last forever. That’s why there’s a limit. So, to start over, you need to take advantage of the opportunity presented to you now and do better.

Instead of blaming and punishing yourself, put your effort into doing better from now on. Start as if you were starting from scratch. What if you told your wife or husband: “I want to start over from scratch”? But not just for the sake of saying it. What about your career, your job?

How long will you be a “Cain”? You should be angry about this bad offering you’ve been giving. Wake up to life. God allows new beginnings, but you’re the one who has to start.

And you who sinned and left the faith, how long will you be complaining? Salvation is individual. Forget the past. Restart while there is time because it may be too late if you leave it for later.

What are you going to do? Which area of your life will you be starting over and already taking the first step?
