RACING THOUGHTS AND ANXIETIES

Have you ever thought that there are time thieves around you every day? Yes, they steal your time and leave you with racing thoughts and anxieties . But there's a way to get rid of it!

In recent years, a new condition has affected many people’s lives (especially in the modern world of technologies and fast things). This condition is known as “racing thoughts” and “anxiety”.

The Word of God says: “In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul” (Psalm 94:19).

You have certainly already found yourself with racing thoughts. The technologies were supposed to help us; they were to do more with less time. But the emotional and mental result is that our time is practically all stolen. Using these technologies does not give us the feeling that we have done much but are not doing enough. After all, who can keep up with technological advancement? You buy a mobile phone, and in a little while, you already have a newer version. You become a slave to technology.

Thus, the technology that was to free us and allow us to do more things with fewer resources takes our time. Still, social media reminds us of what others are doing. The friend who travelled to Europe, the boss who posted the targets for the day. And that stress comes. And people wonder: why is everyone more anxious? Isn’t that obvious? The human being has become a slave to everything happening around them.

When we are worried, with a problem pressuring us, it is expected to have a multitude of anxieties. Imagine all kinds of thoughts at the same time in your head. That’s what the psalmist is saying. However, he brings a solution: “Your comforts gave some holiday to my soul”. These “comforts” are the words of the Most High. There is His thought, which works as a rest for your mind. When you open the newspaper, you see a lot of bad news. You throw more bad thoughts into your head. And you change your state to “racing”, “nervous”, “hopeless”. But in the Word of God, you find calm for your soul.

For example: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34).

See God’s comfort. You have rent to pay, a child who gives you a problem and a boss who calls your attention. But Jesus says: “Do not worry about tomorrow”. Let’s take care of “today”. God will give me the “daily bread”. This brings you relief, the certainty that God is in control (and not you).

If you are anxious, it is because your mind is focused on others. Turn your mind to God’s mind, where you will find rest for your soul.

Meditate on this and follow the video above.
