Humans were not made to live in the dark. Without light, there is absolutely nothing: no life, no soil, no plants, no animals, no human beings. Light is as essential to our lives as water and air, but it is little talked about. Usually, people think of food, water, and air, but light was God’s first creation; without it, nothing could exist.

Jesus said: I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

In these words of the Lord Jesus, we understand that those who do not believe in Him are and remain in darkness. As the sun is for this planet, so He is for the soul, and if you do not believe in Him, your soul is in darkness, groping like a blind person.

There is a spiritual world. Whether you believe it or not will not change the fact that you have been inserted into a physical world and a metaphysical one, which is the spiritual world. And if you want to live in the light spiritually, you have to embrace the sun of this world, which is the Lord Jesus.

What happens when a person remains in spiritual darkness?

Those who live in darkness are constantly restless about death. And he who lives in darkness is subject to the prince of darkness. If Jesus is the Prince of light, there is also a prince of darkness, who is Satan, the god of the unbelievers.

Because of unbelief, the prince of darkness has access to the lives of those who live in darkness. So, the person suffers from a great emptiness; nothing makes sense. They suffer from a spiritual disturbance, and they have to anaesthetise the body through addictions so as not to feel the pain of the soul. Another symptom of those who walk in darkness is not having a sense of direction in life and not having a sense of purpose.

To scare away the darkness of your life, believe in the Lord Jesus with all your heart, all your soul, and all your understanding so that you may come to obey and live by His words. If it is not that way, it is not true belief, as the Word of God teaches. Those who do not want to walk in the light have already chosen the prince of darkness.
