What are you an expert in?
Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings; they will not serve before officials of low rank. Proverbs 22:29
Everyone has talents, but not everyone develops them. Everyone can be an expert, but most people are content with being mediocre.
You have at least one talent inside of you, probably more. Photography, speaking other languages, cooking, administration, writing, selling, serving, making others laugh, style, sport, gardening; or something you like, have an inclination towards, something you have joy in doing — or something you have a great curiosity of learning.
For each talent that I randomly listed above we can name several cases of people who succeed and profit from it. And the money is not even the most important thing to them. The passion and joy of doing something they like with excellence is their best salary.
They not only have the talent, but they did something about it. They began to learn it, practice it, and develop it. They made mistakes, but perfected themselves. And they became masters, experts on the subject.
The good news is that the same path is open to you.
You already have a talent. What you need now is to believe in it and in yourself in order to develop your talent and become a master of this skill. Without the fear of making mistakes, because an expert is the one who has made so many mistakes that he ended up learning everything that doesn’t work. That is why today he gets it right more than others.
Everyone should be an expert in at least one positive skill. At the very least, those who aren’t should be on their way to being one.
What are you, or on your way to being, an expert in?
