The Curse of Cain
How do you maintain a close relationship with God when your conscience is always accusing you of a sin?
And why does it accuse you?
Because there wasn’t sincere repentance.
Repentance is not a feeling of regret or remorse.
Repentance involves the abandonment and hate of sin.
Satan stimulates sin just so that he can hammer a person’s conscience with accusations and neutralize their faith.
There is nothing worse than having a guilty conscience. It’s like carrying a curse.
Cain carried this curse for the rest of his life.
Wherever he went, his conscience weighed heavily on him, making him think that everyone wanted to kill him.
In fact, a guilty conscience will not allow you to have one minute of peace. And if you do not have inner peace, how can you be at peace with God?
Criminals get rid of their guilty conscience once they are judged and sentenced by society. While this does not happen, they are judged by their own conscience, and carry the weight of their sin.
The worst part is that, in addition to this, a guilty conscience blocks faith in such a way that it is difficult to turn back to your First Love and have a communion with God.
The solution:
A sincere, honest and transparent repentance.
How?
Look for a place where you can be isolated from everyone and everything, pour out your soul before the Almighty, confess your sin and abandon it immediately.
With such an act of faith, the Holy Spirit uses the blood of His Son to wash and restore a good conscience.
“…having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,” I Timothy 1.19
