How do you achieve a life with abundance without falling into the temptation of wealth?

Warning against wealth

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6.7-12

Promise of Wealth

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they have it more abundantly. John 10.10

How do you separate a biblical warning against wealth, from a promise that is also biblical and in favor of wealth?

Is it possible to have an abundant life without being rich?

There is no way to answer such questions without resorting to the fundamental element involved in these biblical matters: Faith.

Faith is aggressive, courageous and foolish for those who believe. Faith is foolish because it is based on Holy Scriptures and, for this reason, goes completely against any rational reason. Logically, how do you explain the fact that the entire solar system stopped because of one word of faith? How can you divide the waters of the sea with a staff? How can you turn a lake of poisonous water into drinking water? How can you make an iron ax head float by throwing a stick into the water?

Faith is foolish because it disregards natural circumstances and forces what it determines to happen.

Of course, those who want to be rich fall into temptation, and a snare, and many foolish and cruel lusts, which submerge men in destruction and perdition when they allow themselves to be led by blind faith, a faith according to the desires of a corrupt and deceiving heart, that despises the will of the Spirit of God.

Faith is a virtue of the Holy Spirit to carry out the will of the Holy Spirit. God did not give us faith so that we heed to the lusts of the flesh.

Who thinks the faith of the Holy Spirit can be used to conquer women, men or both? Who dares to think they can use the faith of God to fulfill desires of the flesh? Who dares to think of using the power of God to fulfill the devil’s wishes? The same is true in regards to the greed of wealth for purely selfish reasons.

I believe that apostle Paul was led by the Spirit to separate the faith of the Spirit of God from the faith of the spirit of the devil.

The faith of the Spirit of God always seeks, longs, yearns and pursues what pleases God, according to His will. On the other hand, the faith of the devil is of the flesh and solely wants to fulfill its desires.

The Lord Jesus wants us to have life, and have it more abundantly. But first we must seek His kingdom and His righteousness so that everything else may be added.

How can you acquire the promises of the Kingdom of God without first entering into it? First you must enter it and then take possession of its benefits. Matthew 6.33
