Abraham and the king

Imagem de capa - Abraham and the king

Abraham defeated the four kings that took Lot, his family and all his belongings captive. Besides them, five more kings, including the king of Sodom. For this reason, the king of Sodom said to him:

Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself. Genesis 14.21

The king of Sodom symbolizes Satan. He does not care about the riches of this world, but he has used them to attract people. He wants the souls to suffer with him in Lake of Fire and Sulfur for all eternity.

Now, those who have spiritual discernment will agree that the soul is the most precious good on the face of the Earth. Everything that can be invested to win souls for the Kingdom of Heaven is insignificant in the eyes of God.

For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? Matthew 16.26

All material goods, as well as man, are transient in this world. Everything ends. Everything ceases. However, the soul will remain for all eternity. The soul will live eternally in the presence of God or the devil, depending on your choices in this world. Once life comes to an end, no amount of mass, or candles, or wealth can change the fate of the soul.
