Day 11 of the Fast of Daniel

The glory of man

God says in Jeremiah:

Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might,  nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me… Jeremiah 9.23-24

When you receive the Holy Spirit, He reveals His Son, Jesus, to you. And, once you know the Lord Jesus, then you can glory because there is nothing more glorious, nothing richer, nothing more powerful, nothing greater than to know the Lord Jesus. This is where the glory of man can be found.

Imagine: a person studies diligently, receives professional training, is successful, conquers great things, family, health, conquers everything! However, all the achievements of this world are only for a limited time, because a person may live 80, 90, 100 years, if that, but their life starts to decline, their health declines, until the moment comes where they descend to the grave.

Then, all the glory of this world is summed up to one hundred, at most, one hundred and something years. But when a person has access to the Glory of God, which is knowledge, experience with the Lord Jesus Christ, then his life will last for all eternity, his glory is for all eternity.

It’s a matter of intelligence. Think, what is best for you? Glory for one hundred years or glory for all eternity? It’s up to you! We make our own choices.

One thing is certain: we don’t need to deserve to know the Lord Jesus, we just have to obey the direction of the Holy Spirit.
