Practical Faith and Imagination

No one can speak about sacrifice without speaking about GREAT things, because everything that is GREAT is not cheap. However, these things are only possible for those who believe.

GOD showed Abraham the stars because, at that time, nature was the main reference of the power and greatness of GOD, and not only the stars, as well as the sand of the sea.

Today, the stars and the sand of the sea can be compared to houses, cars, large companies, large fortunes, a structured family, health and a successful love life.

As Bishop Macedo has said many times, Abraham saw the stars in heaven but he never imagined that these stars, which he saw all the time, represented his future descendants.

Just as GOD showed Abraham the stars, today He shows, for example, the best car at the dealership you pass by every day; the best home in a condominium – maybe you’ve been there before to provide some kind of service; the best bank account at the bank you go to or maybe even work at. Of course, if you try to pass this faith on to someone else, they will say you’re crazy.

When Bishop Macedo said that he would preach throughout the world, 37 years ago, nobody believed him. Imagine if, at that time, he would explain to people what the Universal Church would be like today? He would surely be placed in an insane asylum. But he continued to believe against all hope.

The Bible says that we should look to Abraham, but today we can also look to Bishop Macedo. Their stories are very similar. When they were called, they were just men with a dream.
