Day 6 of the Fast of Daniel
Servant of God
Who will deliver him?
If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliverus from the burning fieryfurnace, and He will deliverus from your hand, O king. Daniel 3.17
A true servant of God knows Whom he serves and also knows that sooner or later He will pass through the fire. And the fire that the servant passes through is not just any fire; sometimes it is a fieryfire.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, John said:
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.Matthew 3.11
Persecutions, injustices, defamation, slander, deserts, etc. These are some examples of the fire that all of us, servants of God, must pass through, and there is no avoiding it.
This is when we see if we really have the same Spirit as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, and whether we are serving the God that delivered them from the fire.
When the king threatened Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, they said:
If that is the case, our God whom we serveis able to deliverus… Daniel 3.17
Faced with the threat of death, they remained faithful, which is the true definition of trusting and serving God.
The question that cannot be silenced at this time is: are you genuinely serving the Most High God, to the point where He finds Himself obligated to deliver you?
Understand that God will always be with His servant, wherever he may be. Regardless of his situation or condition, God will deliver him!
Take a look at His promise to His servants:
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43.2
This is very strong! Those who serve the living God with all of their body, soul and spirit, like those three men, will never be defeated.
When we have the Spirit of God, come what may, whatever happens, He delivers us!
And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished; and he rose in haste and spoke, saying to his counselors, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?” They answered and said to the king, “True, O king.” “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.” Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. Daniel 3.23-26
The verses above clearly show us that God was with those men. They were not bound, but loose, walking in the fire, not suffering any kind of harm.
Now, let’s think. How can a person serve God and say that he has His Spirit, when his life is bound and he is suffering all kinds of physical and spiritual harm?
No, no, no! We cannot accept this!
Save this inside your innermost being right now: “I have to make people see and recognize the God that I serve.”
If King Nebuchadnezzar saw and acknowledged Him, it cannot be different nowadays. Everyone needs to recognize the God of our life. And this will only happen when we are truly servants and filled with His Spirit.
Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel, and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God! Daniel 3.28
Before you charge anything of God, think whether you are serving Him with all of your body, soul and spirit, this is, 100%.
Has the God that delivers been the First in all the areas of your life?
If so, the Lord Jesus’ promise will be fulfilled in your life.
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. John 12.26
