Dead flies
Many people come to us saying, “I do everything right. I give my tithe, I give offerings, I sacrifice, I do the Fast of Daniel, I do this, that, and the other, but my life doesn’t change. Why?”
The truth is that many do everything right, but their life doesn’t change because of the following reason:
“Dead flies putrefy the perfumer’s ointment, and cause it to give off a foul odor; so does a little folly to one respected for wisdom and honor.” Ecclesiastes 10.1
These people have allowed a dead fly, called malice, to enter their life and render useless everything they did well, such as returning their tithe, giving offerings, sacrificing, and participating in the Fast of Daniel.
It doesn’t take much; a little malice is enough to destroy a life.
The dead fly is malice;
Giving off a foul odor is those who, besides having malice, contaminate others with it;
The ointment is the person and everything he does;
The Perfumer is God.
To sum it up, it’s no use doing everything right, yet allowing in malice.
