Eden

Imagem de capa - Eden

Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die”.  Genesis 2.15-17

What was in the garden? Every kind of tree that is pleasant to see and good to eat; an abundance of gold; onyx stone and a river that watered the garden, which symbolized the Holy Spirit.

God gave Adam conditions to have a life of complete and absolute quality. He did not lack anything at all; he had the best of everything. He could have taken advantage of all this, however, of the thousands of fruits he had access to, there was one that could not be touched. An example: out of the land’s 100%, you can only have 90%, because the other 10% belong to God. If he ate the fruit from the tree of life, he would die (spiritually) and would begin to see his own nakedness. So, through Eve, the devil suggested he touch the tree.

At that moment, he had to make a choice: say no to the voice that came from the devil, remain in paradise with all the perks and spiritually alive or turn his back on God, give in to the devil and lose everything.

Adam’s choice caused him to lose everything. To the point where God says: “…cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. (…) In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” Genesis 3.17,19 And God banished man from the garden.

Today, for many people, the land has been cursed. With the sweat of their brow they eat bread with great difficulty – when they eat! Add to this, illnesses, separations, premature deaths and losses. All this because they have touched what belongs to God.

With regard to those who are still lost, we work arduously so that they can come to know the One who can deliver them from this curse. However, sad are those who already know that Jesus is the door, but do not want to go through it. A woman came to me and said that she has been in Church for 5 years, but is unable to give her tithe. On the other hand, thank God, we have thousands of people who, because they live day to day in the faith of the Lord Jesus, have entered Eden and today, they enjoy what Adam enjoyed during the days of his obedience.
