Empty vessels

Today we want to speak to those who have the Holy Spirit and when the Fast of Daniel comes around, you wonder: “If I’ve already been sealed, why do I need to do this fast?”

The answer is simple and straightforward: for the same reason that someone cannot stop manifesting their faith after a great achievement, for our God is an inexhaustible Source of life and works His Power in the same measure we use our confidence!

And who said the Work of the Holy Spirit is limited to Baptism? Why can’t we go further in our communion with God to achieve new and greater experiences, inspirations, revelations, great ideas, because aren’t all these things also His Work and exclusive benefit to those who seek Him with thirst? You will further understand this in the following conversation between the Prophet and a poor widow.

So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.” Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.” So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil CEASED.” 2 Kings 4.2-6

Why is written that the oil CEASED instead of FINISHED? Because it is impossible for something given by God to have a limit or end, let alone His Own Spirit! The oil ceased because she did not have any more empty vessels, if she did, HE would have filled them all.

Of course she solved her problem by paying off her debt and living off of the rest, but she could have gone further.

The same applies to us in regards to the Holy Spirit, because when you are baptized, you have solved your inner problem, but you can also go further. As long as we live in this world, if we present ourselves every day before God to surrender our will, our personal projects, our feelings and affections, and seek Him with thirst, His Work in our life will certainly extend beyond baptism. Greater things are yet to come!

God bless you abundantly!
