Hello Bishop!

In preparation for the Campaign of Israel, I decided to divide Gideon’s story into topics in order to meditate in detail on what is written, asking God to make me understand it and then writing short summaries about each moment. This opened my understanding of how God sees us, how He acts, and the matter of the exchange of spirit. I thought you might like to read it too….

Midianites and caves in the rocks: (Judges 5:32, 6:1-5)

After a great victory, Israel is at peace for 40 years but they do what is evil in the sight of God and so, He allows the Midianites to attack. The enemies come upon them like locusts and destroy everything they see.

Because of this, the people make dens, caves in the hills, and fortifications. Imagine the effort of digging a cave in the rock without the machinery and explosives that we have today.

In other words, they had much strength, willingness, and the courage to dig caves in rock to hide, but not to fight. They relied on the strength of their own arms, but they didn’t have the spirit to face the problem because, deep down, their conscience knew that God was not with them.

Continued tomorrow…

Don’t miss it!
