Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145.3 

We cannot have a relationship with God without showing His Holy Name the due respect and honor.

Those who understand His justice, greatness and majesty, fear and tremble before His glorious presence.

In the past, godly men revered Him because they feared His Word.

How can we, being so small, possibly be accepted by such a great God?

The answer is in this verse:

“But now entreat God’s favor, that He may be gracious to us. While this is being done by your hands, will He accept you favorably?” says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 1.9

The acceptance of our life is subject to our offering. Do you know why?

It is very simple! What we offer on the Altar reveals who we are and what God means to us.

There is a great example in the Bible that illustrates this reasoning very well: Abel and Cain! God was pleased with Abel and his offering, but displeased with Cain and his offering.

The question is: What was the difference between both offerings? Was it the monetary value?

Of course not! God does not see monetary values; He sees the quality of what we give as an offering on His Altar.

Abel didn’t just offer any sheep, he gave the best in his flock. Cain, on the other hand, gave an offering. Perhaps its value was greater than Abel’s, but it was not the best he had.

God was angry with the priests who offered animals with defects on the Altar.

He considered this act as a lack of respect to His Holy Name.

They had healthy animals to sacrifice, but chose to take the ones that were sick to the Altar. Would you accept this if you were God? Of course not! None of us would accept it.

The Lord Jesus praised the widow’s offering and said she had given more than everyone else. He pointed out that the rich gave large amounts out of their abundance. But she did not! Though she was poor, she gave everything she possessed, her entire livelihood.

A perfect sacrifice is the result of a pure faith before God.

Blessed are those who understand this, because everything they do for God will be done with quality, and therefore, He will honor them.
