The despised Manna
But now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes.Numbers 11.6
God had given His people the best, the bread of heaven, of the angels, which was like a cake made with honey. This food was reserved for winners. However, this gift was “despised”, considered nothing.
They received the meat they longed for, but soon after they died with it between their teeth.
…because there they buried the people who had the yielded to craving. Numbers 11.34
It has not been different nowadays. God has always given us the best in every way. However, how many people despise the best they have received in their love life, because they want someone else?
And, overcome by the flesh, die in their sin. In most cases, not a physical death, but a spiritual death.
The same has happened in regards to the Holy Spirit.
He is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus, the Spirit of life.
The One without whom we can do absolutely nothing!
He has also been “despised”, considered nothing, whenever the desire for a blessing is greater than the desire to receive Him.
A miracle, however great it may be, does not guarantee eternal life.
But the Holy Spirit does, because He is the Seal of our Salvation!
The bread of life that many have exchanged for the desires of the flesh of this world.
