Fatigue-proof: (Judges 8.4)

“When Gideon came to the Jordan, he and the three hundred men who were with him crossed over, exhausted but still in pursuit.” Although several other men joined the army, at this point in the battle, only Gideon and the three hundred are mentioned. Probably, when they became fatigued, the others who joined later decided to stop.

The spirit of the three hundred was different. They ­– who had accepted to start a crazy war without swords, but only torches, pitchers, and trumpets – proved that they trusted God. And by following in Gideon’s footsteps, they were in one spirit with him.

Now, with their enemy’s swords in their hands, they ignored their physical fatigue and continued to pursue beyond the limits of their strength, because their spirit was what moved them.

The others, who remained behind, were driven by circumstance. What makes us immune to fatigue is the strength of our faith; the confidence that if God has not commanded us to stop, and if there are still enemies to pursue and wars to win, we cannot stop.
