The wrath of God

Imagem de capa - The wrath of God

It is rare to hear anyone speaking about the wrath of God.

Personally, I’ve never heard a message about it.

The subject is taboo in churches.

It seems like the fear of losing members forces preachers to avoid the subject.

Mercy, love and the grace of God are the constant theme in pulpits.

They are attractive subjects that make the public feel good.

They don’t make anyone feel uncomfortable… not even hell.

They create the sense that God the Father in heaven, in the end, will open the door for everyone.

It’s hard to imagine the wrath of God when His word says that He is love. 1 John 4:8,16

But the fact is that He is love just as much as He is justice, and will never tolerate unrighteousness or sin.

Those who know and believe in the truth, but don’t practice it, are playing with their faith.

The LORD tired of Israel’s idiotic mindset of assuming that the observance of religious traditions would compensate for sin.

But this is what has happened with many believers. They think that love and the grace of God cancel out their fleshliness.

They forget that…
The LORD is slow to anger and ABOUNDING in loyal love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but by no means clearing the guilty… Numbers 14:18

No one should use the benevolence and compassion of God as an excuse to continue in sin, because the wrath of God is revealed against the rebellious—the children of disobedience.

Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things Gods wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.  Ephesians 5:6

This Sunday we will complete the chain of Restoration with the Lord’s Supper. The Holy Spirit teaches us that each one of us should examine his or her self before participating in the body and blood of His Son Jesus.  1 Corinthians 11:28

And so, this is a big opportunity for slaves of sin to free themselves and begin a new life.

May all of you be blessed in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
