Those who consider tribulations as the common physical suffering of life are mistaken.

Tribulations have nothing to do with family problems, social imbalances, sicknesses, diseases, economic problems, and so on.

Tribulations are only related to the Christian faith. They have to do with true and sincere Christians who have faced the burning fire of persecution, injustice, mockery, criticism, insults and even loneliness because of their faith in the Lord Jesus.

Men and women have been replaced because of their faith. Many have been beaten and even killed because of it.

And why does a Christian have to go through this? Can’t God eliminate tribulations? Yes, of course!

But we must not forget that the faith that is revealed was given precisely to be used against the evils of hell and overcome them with power. God knew what His children would face! That is why He gave them an effective weapon.

Faith is the hidden treasure within every Christian. Whilst the devil is not yet imprisoned, he will try to steal it by creating difficult situations (tribulations) to discourage the faithful.

However heavy and constant it may be, Paul affirms that this tribulation is light and momentary. This is because the end result is the eternal weight of glory, beyond all measure, “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
