Just like not everything that glitters is gold, not everyone that says they trust Jesus really does.

Many good people have confused trust and believe. This is why so many frustrated in the faith.

If believing were simply limited to trusting, the Name of the Lord Jesus would not be embarrassed by so many “brethren.”

Believing has nothing to do with trusting.

When someone trusts, he is dating or lives with his partner in a “stable union.” This puts his conscience at ease and brings satisfaction to society and his “faith,” but none of this changes his marital status.

From a spiritual point of view, this demonstrates a faith that is mixed with passion or futile and useless feelings.

When a person trusts in the Lord Jesus, the relationship develops based on feelings of passion. There is no personal surrender, obedience, or honor to his word.

On the other hand, when you believe someone, in a biblical way, you are committed to an unconditional surrender. It is the marriage that will last for the rest of a person’s life, instituted by the Almighty.

The verb “to believe,” in the original Greek, has to do with this kind of commitment. It involves daily sacrifice, until death, by those who believe.

This is the kind of belief that guarantees eternal life.

He who believes in the Son of God has everlasting life… John 3.36

Those who do not believe are already doomed to the Lake of Fire and Sulfur, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
