What are the chances of getting out of hell?

It is not God’s will that anyone should go to hell. In fact, God does everything to prevent mankind from going there.

Few people know that Hell is the dwelling place of unrighteousness. Everything that is unrighteous is a sin and every sin is unrighteous.

God is Righteousness and, therefore, He could not create unrighteousness or its dwelling place.

Rebellion against Justice caused evil to be expelled from the Holy Place or Place of Righteousness. Once expelled, evil created his own dwelling place, which is called hell.

Who are its inhabitants?

Satan, his demons and all of those who are unrighteous. All those who die in sin or unrighteousness go straight to the place of unrighteousness or place of sin: hell.

What are the chances that those who are in hell will be rescued and saved?

Absolutely, none.

As it is written: “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment …” Hebrews 9.27

What are the chances of the living not to be sent there, since everyone sins?

When a sinner recognizes Jesus as his One and only Lord and Savior, by faith, before dying and lives in obedience to His Word, then he is justified. This is, he is forgiven and has his name written in the Book of Life.

After all, in God’s Holy Place, heaven, there can be no blame, no unrighteousness…

“But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented,” Luke 16.25

At first glance, the interpretation of this passage suggests that those who suffer while on earth will be rewarded with salvation, and those who are very successful while on earth will be punished in hell. But this is not the case.

This rich man went to hell because his trust was set upon his wealth. He ignored the Abrahamic faith and turned his back on the Law (Righteousness) of God, though he had knowledge of it. He knew of Abraham’s story and, therefore, knew also of his God.

Being rich does not mean you are unrighteous. There are rich people who are righteous, just like there are poor people who are unrighteous.

The fact is that wealth can contribute to good or evil, to salvation or damnation. It all depends on each individual’s mind.

Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and many other heroes of the faith from the past were rich. And yet, they had a strong relationship with God.

Jesus teaches us that where our treasure is, there will our hearts be also. Matthew 6.21

The danger of having many riches is setting your heart on them. Your heart should not be set on anything or anyone, except the Lord Jesus Christ. The reason why this rich man went to hell is that his heart was set on his wealth.

“Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, let not the mighty man glory in his might, nor let the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says the Lord,” Jeremiah 9.23-24
