3 INCONVENIENT TRUTHS THAT WILL SET YOU FREE

If you want to free yourself from misleading convictions, meditate on the Word of God and watch the video about three of the many truths that will set you free

The truth is sometimes inconvenient. It disturbs us, challenges us, and requires us to adopt a different attitude. That’s why we have expressions like “the naked truth” and “the truth hurts”. Because the truth often doesn’t suit us; it doesn’t favour our way of behaving.

The Lord Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

This verse implies that when people do not know the truth, they are prisoners of lies. But when they encounter it, they are freed from the slavery of lies in which they have lived for so many years.

Jesus said these words not because the truth is far away or complicated for people who live in lies to understand but because it is available. How many people have the truth by their beds? The Bible, the Word of God. But they don’t read it; they don’t care about it. How many know and use biblical verses but don’t stop to consider these words? So, it’s not a lack of access; it’s a lack of wanting to confront and understand this truth. Because it will demand that the person change something in their life, and they don’t want to do that. That’s why the lie is more pleasant.

Although there are many others, I will mention three inconvenient truths below:

1st – Nothing is created out of nothing: This truth confronts those who deny God’s existence. They believe, for example, that everything that exists is the result of chance, but to create something, there must be another unless a higher power exists. This truth bothers people because if they recognise that there is a higher power, then soon this power will be greater than us; he is our Creator. This truth is inconvenient; many theories arise about how the world came into existence, and people are curiously prepared to believe in these theories but not in the Word of God that declares He is the Creator.

2nd – Give to receive: A truth so natural, so ingrained in us, and we know this so instinctively that even a homeless person knows that if they go to the traffic light and start washing the windshields of the cars or offer to look after their cars, they will receive much more than if they stay on the pavement only with his hand extended asking for alms. So “give to receive” is another inconvenient truth.

Jesus spoke the same truth in another way: Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12.

But people don’t want to give; they want to receive. There has never been a generation as selfish and demabding as the current generation, which wants to receive but does not want to give. Therefore, it will remain a slave to lies.

3rd – Forgive to be forgiven: Before we ask God for forgiveness for our sins, we must forgive those who offended us. In other words, it’s no use asking God for forgiveness if I didn’t forgive those who offended me first. We are not perfect, so we need forgiveness, people’s understanding, and God’s forgiveness. But He determined in His Word that we will not be forgiven if we do not forgive those who offended us. This is the inconvenient truth that the resentful person does not want to hear. They want their pain to be noticed but don’t want to listen to this truth.

I gave you only three, but you can find many more of these truths that set you free in a Bible near you.
