I want to talk to you about how to diagnose a disease, a pain, a sickness in your soul. Can the soul get sick? Yes. Everyone knows that the body can get sick. The spirit can also get sick, which is when the person loses their mental faculties, when they lose faith completely (because the spirit is our connection with God). I will give you 3 of the main symptoms of a sick soul.

The first symptom is the lack of peace. The body needs water, sleep, and food. Likewise, the soul needs peace, and rest. The person who has a sick soul does not calm down, their life is constantly troubled. It doesn’t mean that the person who has peace has no problems. However, what happens to the person with a sick soul is that in the interior there is no peace. The person can’t rest, no matter what they do. For example, it is very common for the person who wants peace to seek nature because nature is the closest physical place we find to God. Nature is the perfect creation of God.

The second symptom is the presence of anxiety. The anxious person can’t be happy where they are or with how they are. They always think that to be happy, they need to have something or get somewhere they haven’t reached yet. All they do in life is pursue something. But they can never get well. Because the soul is not satisfied with things. The good feeling of having likes in the social media photos of the trip you made lasts only a few minutes. Then, the person is always looking for the next achievement.

The third symptom is the emptiness that has settled in the person. It’s something associated with a lack of purpose. The person begins to think: “Why am I in this world? I wish it was all over.” They have this existential crisis because the soul has not yet found its purpose. We have a purpose. Everything that was created has a purpose. What is the purpose of your soul? I’m not talking about human causes that you can embrace (such as preserving nature), because they are worthy causes, but they will pass. Your soul will last for all eternity when you leave this world. So, do you think that the purpose of your soul is linked to something in this world? If your soul is eternal, do you think your purpose is linked to this world? If my purpose is linked to 80, 90 or 100 years of life that I have on this Earth, what will I do after I die? Therefore, the purpose of the soul can only be something eternal: to have a relationship with God, to serve Him.

The person has a sick soul because they insist on living away from God. Only the Creator of the soul can satisfy the needs of their soul. And there is only one way to Him: the Lord Jesus (John 14:6). Reflect on this through the message above.
