DEMONS: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Psalm 91)

The Holy Bible is not a buffet restaurant where you choose what you want to believe; there are angels, just as there are demons. To be protected from their wickedness, you need to take refuge in the shelter of the Most High

Let’s move on to verse 13 of Psalm 91, but first, I would like to add something about angels in the previous message: although the Bible points out the existence of angels and suggests that God sends angels to guard us, we should not pray to angels. Prayers are not made to the angels because God gives orders to the angels. We should not pray to a “guardian angel”. Yes, you can ask the Father to send angels, but you should not pray to the angels.

“You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot” (Psalm 91:13).

So, we understand that lions and serpents are among the most lethal animals. And they are animals that, biblically, were used to symbolise the devil. In the Garden of Eden, Satan embodied the serpent and used it to talk to the woman. Jesus spoke about stepping on serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19). The young lion is at the prime of strength.

We have specific promises. “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly (…)” (Romans 16:20).

And if there are angels at the disposal of the saved, there are also demons. People like to talk about angels, but when we talk about demons, the person says they don’t want to listen. If you believe in the Bible, you must believe in its entirety.

I’ll give you 3 basic actions to take upon knowing about the existence of demons:

1) You have to have the conviction that the devil exists. I know this is clear for many people, but it is worth emphasising. When you look at the atrocities happening in the world, you know that the human being alone cannot commit them. Why does the world condemn those atrocities? Because within the human being, there is the fingerprint of God, the sense of justice. But when the person is possessed, they put their values aside. Evil exists.

2) You have to understand that the devil is not in hell; he is on Earth. The Bible makes this very clear in the book of Job, chapter 1. He is the prince of this Earth today because man gave authority to him in the Garden of Eden. The man transferred his authority to Satan. Every time you obey someone, you become a servant of that someone. That’s why the Earth is the way it is. In the Last Judgment, in Revelation, the demons and those who rejected God will be cast into the Lake of Fire and Brimstone.

3) We must not ignore the devil’s existence or give him more importance than he deserves (we cannot see the devil in everything; not everything is the devil), but we must resist him. And for that, you have to be in the Shelter of the Most High. This way, you will have the power to step on them.

If you are in the “open field of the most low”, run to the “Shelter of the Most High”.
