You probably have a book at home or in app format on your mobile phone where you have one of the following reactions: you feel resistance to the content or you are attracted to it. Yes, I’m talking about the Bible.

It is very important that you realise this. Let’s start by talking about the type of relationship in which the person is repelled by the Bible. They feel resistance to opening the Word of God to read it. Although they have the Book because it is Holy and contains truths. The Bible is the most famous book in the world. So, people learned to have a Bible at home even for cultural reasons. However, they are not motivated to read because they may not understand the content. It could also be that the person knows, deep down, that the Bible will show things that they are not practising. So they think, “It’s better that I don’t know.”

Another type of relationship a person has with the Bible is attraction. However, some treat the Bible religiously or mystically. They only read a few specific passages and 98% of the Bible is a mist. And then there are those people who deal with the Scriptures as the apostle Paul said to Timothy (2 Timothy 3).

When Timothy was a child, he learned about biblical truths, which make a person wise for salvation in the Lord Jesus. When you have a relationship with the Word in which you understand that it is the mind of God and, there, you are seeking His will, it becomes spirit, it enters you, instructs you, and corrects you. The person changes their way of thinking and acting through what they read in the Bible.

Therefore, this resistance to reading the Bible is a spiritual thing. There is a spirit that does not want you to have contact with the mind of God. You have to overcome this resistance. You have no idea how many lives were sacrificed to preserve the Scriptures so that we would have free access to them today.
