“FALL 7, RISE 8” – OR EVEN BETTER, DO THIS!
What if you decided to use your intelligence and not fall once and stay on your feet?
There is a phrase that is used a lot by those who like to motivate people: “Fall seven times, get up eight times”. This phrase is based on the passage: “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity” (Proverbs 24:16).
First, let us note that this verse is speaking of the righteous. The “righteous” is not a perfect person, who does not sin. It is the one who believes in God, who lives out of consideration for what God says. He does not ignore God. He seeks to walk in righteousness, in what God determines. But the wicked, as long as they don’t repent, will stumble and will fall. So, if you are a person who fell because of your evil, the way for you to get up is by repenting, seeking God’s forgiveness, starting over and deciding to change your life. The wicked need to repent of their evil.
Now, the number seven means that it can happen for the righteous to stumble, but he needs to get up as many times as necessary. This can happen due to inattention and not being vigilant, they thought that by being with God they were immune to temptation. You need to know that you can be filled with the Holy Spirit, but if you don’t watch, you will fall into your inclinations, because you are still flesh. It was like David, who fell into Bathsheba’s temptation.
However, the righteous cannot let the voice of the accusation stay in the head saying: “You made a mistake, you sinned and God will not forgive you anymore”. The devil’s job is to keep accusing the person. And the person’s memory accuses them. For the righteous, the guilt is even worse, because they think: “I knew it. I knew. I was a bad character. I ignored everything I knew. What I taught others, I ignored.”
So, know that the times you fall will be recorded. You won’t be able to erase it from your memory. It will be on your emotional and mental CV, among the people who know your story. Just as we know to this day from the story of King David.
However, this verse can motivate those who have fallen. Know that it is possible to get up, There is a way for you (whether you are the “righteous” or the “wicked”). Repent and rise. God gives you this opportunity.
However, be smarter: don’t fall, keep standing. Watch the video above and reflect on this message in its entirety.
