Navigation, travel, and any transport would be impossible without the north. Vessels depend on a fixed point through which they are directed. The north is the point that does not change; you can position yourself and decide where you want to go. I’ll give you a guide.

Obviously, God is our greatest north, but He leaves us other tips to position ourselves. The north I will give you is the concept, the consciousness, the understanding of “duty” and “generosity”.

When we talk about “duty”, it is what we “owe ourselves or someone”. We all have duties, even children (who owe obedience to parents, so parents should teach children about their duties).

So, in life, we have to be aware of our duties. If I don’t do it, I will wrong someone who expected something from me.

When we fulfil our responsibilities, we are fulfilling our obligations.

The second concept is “generosity”, which is to go beyond what I owe, beyond the obligation.

If you want a quality life, you need to add the “give”, the “go beyond”, and do more than the obligation.

The person bringing the bread to the table is an obligation, but giving a hug, a compliment, recognising the other person’s qualities, and smiling is generosity.

And it’s like that in all areas of life.

If you want a good relationship with God, you must do more and go further for Him.

Do your duty and practice your generosity. And you will see what will be returned to you in response.
