In Ephesians 2:19, we read: “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.”

Before the creation of the human being and the earthly family, God already existed as a family: Father, Son, Holy Spirit and the angels. He replicated this heavenly model on Earth by creating man in His image and likeness. This explains why the devil hates the family so much: he lost his place and will never recover it.

Similarly, many people today reject the family because they grew up in broken homes marked by violence, abuse, abandonment and betrayal. This is a reflection of the spiritual war we face. Those who are spiritual perceive this reality.

The separation from the Family of God:

But what is needed to be part of God’s family again? We lost this privilege because of our disobedience. When Adam and Eve sinned, they were expelled from the presence of God because they chose another lord. Just as a father may be forced to remove a child involved in illicit activities to protect the family, God had to respect the choice of humanity.

The good news is that Jesus taught us the way back. Once, while preaching in a crowded house, his mother and brothers arrived and asked to see him. Upon being informed, He replied: “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it” (Luke 8:19-25).

With this answer, Jesus made it clear that there were no privileges, not even for His own mother. Mary was a holy woman and chosen to bring Jesus into the world, but she also needed to obey the Word. His brothers were also not exempt from this condition. The same rule applies to all of us: we have the same right to be part of God’s family. We can have Jesus as our older brother and God as our Father.

How to be part of God’s Family?

Simple: listen and practise the Word of God. It’s not enough to know, preach or attend a church. Faith is not just believing in God because even the devil believes. True faith is obedience to the Word.

When we practise authentic faith, we become part of God’s family. Through our faith, our relatives can also be blessed and transformed. Thus, the Kingdom of God expands: by living this faith within our homes, we enlighten our families, giving them the opportunity to believe and obey.

If you are not yet part of it, the path is clear: listen and practise the Word. If you already belong to this family, evaluate if you have been a good representative of it, providing your family members with the best opportunity to unite with God.
