IMAGINE THE QUEUE OF QUESTIONING FOR THESE TWO (Psalm 91)
This responsibility is exclusively yours, just as Adam and Eve in the garden; do your part, obey, and the rest will be with God
“Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling” (Psalm 91:9-10).
Here, the main condition is repeated for all the promises made in Psalm 91, which is “to dwell in the Shelter of the Most High”. In other words, to make the Most High our dwelling.
We understand that we must be at home with God to make choices guided by Him – like someone who lives with a person; before you bring anything into the house or go out somewhere, you think of the person who lives with you; you live in a family environment where you talk to God all the time; you do not need to be on your knees holding hands to speak to God, but you are in constant contact with Him because your mind is connected to Him; you have pleasure (and not a burden); you are not a son who feels trapped in the Father’s House; when you make the Most High your dwelling – you also have the privilege of having His presence as your home. Then, we will be kept in perfect peace.
Now, you need to understand that bad things will happen in your life. But pay attention, it’s not that God does evil. Do you remember when Adam and Eve made a choice and ate the fruit suggested by the serpent to know good and evil? We are heirs to this bad choice they made. Evil is in the world.
“No evil shall befall you” means the final result will be positive in the end. What is apparently evil, God will use that evil to do good in your life.
We see this in the life of King David. What was evil, God used for good. All the persecution he went through because of King Saul became a preparation to be the next king. Just as it happened to Joseph, who was sold, God used it to save his family from hunger. Even if evil has happened to you, the result will be positive if you persevere.
The families of those who live in the Shelter of the Most High also enjoy this promise. However, many unbelievers who do not live in the Shelter of the Most High will suffer. Don’t leave the Shelter of the Most High to go to the open field of the most low. Ask God to help your family.
Keep this with: your effort is not to be crying for your family members. Make your best effort to live in the Shelter of the Most High.
