Challenge #5

Challenge: Watch the series of videos called “Man up!” and reflect on your role as a man at home, at work/school, in church and toward yourself.

Explanation: We weren’t all created as one sex. We were created as men and women, and as such have many differences. It’s important for men to understand their role in life, that it differs from women’s, and that they are created to complete their wives. I’m not talking about male superiority or being macho; I’m simply saying that there are differences. One modern occurrence is the fusion of men and women’s roles. Think about it, the role of a man is getting closer to that of a woman, and a woman’s closer to that of a man, with serious repercussions within families and society as a whole.

Instead of delving into the details of this subject, what is important is that you face this challenge and reflect on your role as a man. What does it mean to be a man? How can you be a man that’s respected by other men and admired by women? How can you reach higher levels of maturity? As an intelligent man, how should you behave at home, with colleagues at work, in church, and everywhere else?

Watch the 5 videos of the “Man up” series on this link. All 5 videos should play one right after the other. If the first link doesn’t work, try this other link. Have your Notebook in hand and note down what you learn from each video. DO NOT simply copy what you hear in the video; add your own thoughts and conclusions. Then, note down a decision that you make with regard to what you learned.

Official Partner: Talk to your partner about this challenge. Share what you learned. Ask him about how he sees his role as a man in the various areas of life. Talk about difficulties that you face, and how you believe you can be a better husband, father, son, friend, student. etc.

Time Period: You may begin to work on this task immediately and you should complete it before Challenge #6.

Post: After – and only after – you’ve completed this challenge, post one or two concepts that caught your attention in this challenge either on the IntelliMen Facebook or Twitter page, (not on your own page) and write the following:
