IT’S HARD TO BE UTTERLY WRONG
This is a prayer that every servant must constantly say so as not to fall into deception because we often make mistakes believing we are right.
It’s hard to be utterly wrong. When we don’t see our own mistakes, we make mistakes and think we are doing the right thing because that is hidden from us. Others see and even try to point out the error to us, but we counter and think that people are teasing us. However, this can cost us a lot.
King David was no stranger to this fact: “Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults” (Psalm 19:12).
He was aware that he had mistakes that were hidden from himself. He prayed for God to purify him from the errors he had not yet seen. This is a very wise prayer that few say: “Lord, show me where I’m wrong. Cleanse me of my mistakes that are hidden from me.” We all make mistakes and often make mistakes without knowing. It is a humble prayer of recognition of our limitations.
He continues: “Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression” (Psalm 19:13).
That is, “guard your servant of pride”. There is a contrast here because, on one side, there is pride, but the servant is not sovereign; he has a Lord above him. The way he contrasts the two things is interesting. As the servant already has a humble position, he has nothing to be proud of. But even in the servant position, we may think we are something.
He concludes by saying: “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).
The consequence of eliminating pride and hidden sins is the ability to be sincere. Pride makes people defend their own mistakes.
Sometimes, God will reveal your mistakes to you, and sometimes, He will use others to help you. You must be humble enough to listen to your wife, husband, boss, employee, or enemy.
Think about it and watch the video above.
