MY FATHER ABANDONED ME
God is not an invader; He must be invited. To do so, you just have to ask Him sincerely to enter your life and make it His dwelling place.
One of the central truths about God that you need to understand is that He is not an invader; He must be invited.
God does not invade anyone’s life; He will not enter without being called.
In the words of the Lord Jesus Himself: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). That is, “to hear My voice” means “to listen to what He says,” and “to open the door” is to “accept what He says.”
You see, the Lord Jesus is waiting for people to open the doors of their lives to Him so that they can hear Him and have communion with Him. This is God’s perfect nature because He is not an intruder.
Some people say, “God abandoned me.” But He never left His place. “Where is God?” It’s a question that ignores His nature. Some people say, “I’m going to give God a chance.” However, when you hear Him, you are giving yourself a chance because it is you who need Him.
Unfortunately, this attitude of a rebellious child is common among people. Are there parents who abandon their children? Yes. And not all parents who abandon their children are bad. For example, I’ve seen parents without conditions give their child to be adopted by another family.
Some people say: “Where was the Lord? The Lord has abandoned me.” However, you, “child of God”, are complaining about this situation, but know that you left the Father’s House, did not listen to the Father, and did what you wanted. You are free to do what you want, but freedom doesn’t come only with “good things”. People think that in freedom, they only do what they like. But they suffer everything that people in the world also suffer. However, God wants to get us rid of it. You only have one person to blame: yourself.
“Do you mean there’s no way for me anymore?” There’s a way for you. And it starts with humility. God won’t kick the door open. So, if you want His presence in your life, you just need to say a humble and sincere prayer.
Say in your own words: “My God, I ask You for forgiveness for all the time I ignored Your voice, that I was stubborn, that I lived as if the Lord did not exist. I know I’m where I am, not because of You, but because of me. And if the Lord accepts entering my life, I am opening the door to You now, and I want to hear Your voice direct me. What can I do after being such an ungrateful and rebellious child?”
So, start listening to and obeying God’s voice. He will guide you, and your life will be transformed. You are free to do that, too.
