NEVER BE AFRAID OF ANYTHING AGAIN (Psalm 91)
Many want the benefits, but without subjecting themselves to the rules. If you want to overcome fears, follow the rules and stay inside the shelter of the Most High.
“You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you” (Psalm 91:5-7).
This speech refers to a scenario of war, persecution, and confrontation with an enemy. If, nowadays – where people live in cities, apartments, with security guards – people can be robbed inside their homes, imagine in the past.
But some people are attacked by insomnia and night terrors. Did you know that most suicides occur at night? The person is bombarded in the head: “Your life is no good”. People are harming themselves because the enemy speaks in their heads.
“The arrows that fly by the day” symbolise the enemies, who often hate and want to harm you.
If you have ever watched biblical movies and soap operas, you see that enemies surrounded the soldiers. And one falls, and another falls. For the soldier to survive this attack, they must be outstanding and surrounded by his companions. David knew this: “A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand.” But you don’t have to be afraid.
The Spirit says: “You shall not be afraid of death”. Maybe you become terrified just for thinking about death. And why are you afraid? It’s because you don’t live in the Shelter of the Most High. If you don’t live with Him now, you won’t live after death. You need to solve this. And how do I live in the Shelter of the Most High? Doing His will, giving up my will, not living by my own rules.
Whoever lives in the Shelter of the Most High understands His house is His. When you’re living in someone’s house, whose rules are they? Just think a little bit. Many want only the benefits but don’t want to submit to the rules.
What are you going to do?
