Sin is not just betraying, lying, stealing and gossiping. Sin also includes omission (being negligent of one’s responsibilities).

It is written, “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.” (James 4:17).So if I can do something, but I don’t, I’m sinning because I’m failing. You can see that it goes beyond our obligations. This includes our ability to do. The Lord Jesus taught this also in the “parable of the talents”, in which one of the servants was negligent. Instead of the person putting strength into their responsibility of doing what they can and have to do, they put strength into making excuses. But God does not accept excuses. He won’t accept explanations, as elaborate as they may be, for something you dodged and are responsible for.

In the example of Queen Esther, when she was in the palace and saw her people being threatened, Mordecai warned her that she could do something about it (Esther 4). In other words, we have to be brave and do our part. It is also written, “If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small” (Proverbs 24:10). What is “If you faint in the day of adversity”? It is not saying that the person is weak, it is saying that they have shown themselves to be weak. That means they were silent. They didn’t show the strength that was inside them. Our strength comes through our faith. When a person says “I’m running out of strength” it’s a lie that evil told them. Because the Word of God says that we are never tempted beyond our strength (1 Corinthians 10:13). If we don’t show our strength in the day of adversity, we are being negligent.

If you are going through a day of trouble, do not accept this word that says: “I can’t. It’s too difficult for me. I will surrender”. This battle in your mind is the first one you have to win. It is the battle of thoughts. This is the main war you are facing. It is not the war on the outside (of financial debt, family problems or health). You will win this war that happens outside sooner or later if you win the war that is in your mind.

This is a very serious fault before God: the person is weak when they need to be strong. You; husband, need to be strong to fight for your marriage. Don’t give up. You who are an associate in a company, do not be silent. Have you been weak in the day of trouble? So stand up and show strength. Because a miracle comes through the manifestation of faith.
