PEACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONFLICT (+TIP TO OVERCOME ANXIETY)
Have you ever thought or asked God to eliminate problems or that they should be absent from your life? This, for sure, did not happen because God does not ignore the problems of your life, but He enables you to overcome them and gives you peace.
Peace is not the absence of conflict. Pay close attention, especially to those who wonder: “When will I have some peace?”
Only in eternity, with the Lord Jesus, will you have this total absence of conflicts, without tears, without suffering. But here on Earth, the best we can have in terms of peace is the certainty that we will overcome our conflicts. Even if, for a while, I suffer an unexpected and temporary defeat, I will win the war in the end. This gives me peace (certainty and security that I will win). It is not by my strength (for being strong or having positive thinking) but by the conviction that Who is inside us is greater than what is outside. This is the kind of peace we can expect in this world. Stay focused on the only path leading you to eternal peace: the Lord Jesus.
You will face insecurities and doubts and live with difficult people. There are people you can avoid, but some are directly linked to you. What can you do? Try to be of peace. As the Lord Jesus said, we have to be peacemakers. Since we live in a world of problems, at least we who have this awareness must minimise conflicts. In what depends on us, we will live in peace. We have to avoid being a thorn in someone’s life. Parents bring peace to their children and children to their parents. Be a promoter of peace at home (this is a sign that you are a child of God). Many incite conflicts in this world, spread gossip, and put one against the other. Those who are children of God don’t do that. The Child of God promotes peace.
What do you do when facing conflicts or having anxieties or doubts? Go to the source of peace, which is God. Bend your knees and do what the Word teaches. I will give you a tip through the Word: “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Ask Him to remove the anxiety and conflict. Pour out, in a sincere prayer, your anxieties and concerns. Before you get up, believe and thank God because you have done what the Word taught.
Instead of lashing out at people, turning to medicine or giving wings to evil thoughts, deposit all this at His feet. When you do this, I guarantee you will have peace (even if the conflicts are outside).
It is as the prophet said: “Arise and depart, For this is not your rest […]” (Micah 2:10).
On this Earth, we will not rest in the full sense of the word, but if we win here, we will enter into eternal rest.
