THE LUGGAGE KEEPER: WINNING YOUR WARS
There are things you don't need to carry in your luggage, and besides being heavy, they prevent you from running, fighting, and winning on the battlefield. Decide today to leave them with the luggage keeper.
Once, David arrived on the battlefield and discovered that the giant Goliath was affronting the people. His father, Jesse, had sent David to bring supplies to the battlefield.
“And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army […]” (1 Samuel 17:22).
This passage illustrates a custom of war that is still observed today. It’s a war strategy. The soldiers leave the luggage further behind to advance lighter against the enemy. The luggage was neither close nor far, with a keeper who protected everything the soldiers needed. You wouldn’t find something unnecessary in the middle of the army’s luggage. For example, you would not find a plant pot or a sofa in the war.
When we take it to the spiritual and emotional field, thinking about our “luggage,” our entire collection of experiences (from our experiences with our parents, beliefs, good and bad things) does not need to be taken to the “battlefield.”
Considering that we are in a war between good and evil, the battlefield is the world, and you are on one side or the other. You have to understand that you don’t take luggage to the battlefield. In other words, what about your past? What happened to you? Is it not necessary to take it with you? In addition to your luggage, do you still need to bring people (even more people who hurt you)? I don’t need to carry the people who hurt me; I can release them.
After David left his luggage, he was able to run. How are you going to run with heavy luggage? And who is this “luggage keeper”? It’s the Holy Spirit. When you hand over your past to Him (and He will tell you the excess luggage), you will receive from Him what you need to beat the enemy. Trust the luggage keeper and go over the enemy because the war is still waging on.
