THE WAR OF THE THOUGHTS: HOW TO WIN IT AND HOW TO WIN IN LIFE

There is a war that we all wage, but only a few can win it because they use the right weapons!

Our biggest war is in our thoughts. That’s where you face your biggest fights. And you should know that if your thoughts are bad, you will have bad feelings, and from bad feelings, you will have bad behaviours, you will make bad choices, and, therefore, your life will be of bad quality. You must understand that your biggest war is in your thoughts. And those who win the war in their thoughts much more easily will win the wars on the outside.

The Lord Jesus said thus: “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts (…)” (Mark 7:21). The heart is a symbol of our thoughts. Bad thoughts come from within us, for information collected throughout life, for conceived ideas, for evil whispers (evil suggestions). Jesus, when the Holy Spirit took him into the wilderness, had Satan suggesting things to Him, such as turning stones into bread (Luke 4:1-19). Adultery, for example, happens in the person’s head before it happens in bed. This is our greatest war: the war against our bad thoughts.

But I have good news. It is not possible to control what comes up in our thoughts; they are abundant because of memories of everything we have seen, heard and experienced since our mother’s womb, words that we hear all day (so you need to take care of what enters your ears and eyes). However, from the moment the bad thought appears in your head, you have the power to turn it off and not entertain it in your mind.

You don’t have to believe every thought that comes to your mind. For example, you think you won’t pass an interview. You don’t have to believe that thought. You can have a better thought: “What if I prepare? What if I try?” You have this control. If you believe in an evil suggestion, you believe in a lie.

When you don’t want to entertain the conversation, you cut it and ignore it. Has it ever happened to you that someone ignores you and is silent? That’s what you have to do with the devil. You need to learn an essential weapon to overcome evil thoughts: “I hate the double-minded, but I love Your law” (Psalm 119:113). That is, the way of the psalmist to overcome bad thoughts was to occupy his thoughts with the Law of God, His Word. There is no room for bad thoughts when you occupy your thoughts with good information (especially the Divine ones). Since our mind will always be thinking about something, you should give it the tools to occupy it. So, think about what God says. Your life will have much more quality. Win inside, and you will win the wars from outside. Think about this through the video above.
