UNGRATEFUL!
Ungratefulness is the most bitter medicine that a human being can offer someone. Reflect and be grateful for what you have!
“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (1 Timothy 6:7). An old truth. We are all born naked and buried in a suit or any outfit, and all our assets will be left behind. There is no drawer in the coffin.
“And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content” (1 Timothy 6:8). A virtue that is in extinction: to be happy with what you have. The trend is to be unhappy with what you have and always look for something you don’t have, thinking it will make you happy. In this search for what you don’t have, people even compromise what they have (their principles, for example). Thus, people fall for scams, believing they will make easy money. Sometimes they even get involved with what is illicit and involve family members in problems.
“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1 Timothy 6:9,10). In other words, don’t blame people for your problems once your love for money severs you in half. It was your greed that stuck this stake in your chest.
In the seminar we held, “Wrong Game, Right Game”, which you can watch in full on Univer Video, we said that people have many wrong goals, including making money. It seems like nonsense, but it’s the wrong goal because if someone’s target is to make money, they become that person the Sacred Text is talking about.
Therefore, looking for money in life causes people to get into many difficulties. Today, many are connected to a bad name, fugitives, and arrested because of money; they even lose their marriage and family.
But evil is not money, which God created. It’s just that He didn’t create wealth to be the goal but a means. It’s something we use to achieve bigger goals. Your goal shouldn’t be to make money; your goal should be to serve. When you serve, money comes into your hands. Because everyone needs certain things and people are willing to pay for them. If you are eager to meet this need that people have, then money will come to your hand. That’s how the world works.
You, maybe, don’t believe that. But the Word of God is warning you. You can fall into temptation. You should learn gratitude. Let us be happy with our livelihood. Your clothes may not be silk, but it’s the clothes that warm you up, be grateful for what you have today. Your food may not be the delicacies of kings, but it feeds you. Learn to be content. If you don’t learn this, you can have everything and will never be happy.
