WARNING! THE COCKTAIL OF DEATH: ARE YOU DRINKING IT WITHOUT KNOWING?

Which cocktail will you have, life or death? The choice is in your hands.

People spend their lives trying to quench their thirst for personal fulfilment, looking for happiness. But in this unbridled pursuit, most end up drinking the cocktail of spiritual death and walking this earth like a living dead.

The spiritual death cocktail contains 3 ingredients:

Pride: this person resists everything that comes from the outside because they think they are better. Nothing is good enough for them, because they know more, they can do more and they are more. Pride kills a person in life because it makes them think they are something they are not.

Vanity: This person values futile things that increase their status, which gives a feeling of power, value, importance and approval. They give more importance to what they should not give importance to. They want their name to be respected, followed and praised. They want recognition and glory for themselves. Vanity can lead a person to death.

Selfishness: the person only thinks about themselves, what they will gain and their benefits, they do not care about others, so they are left alone. You may even be very successful, but you won’t have anyone around to celebrate, just the gold diggers.

Interestingly, all these ingredients are centred on the “I”, of the person. They are the centre of their life.

The cocktail of life is the opposite of all this. It is not focusing on themselves but on God and your neighbour.

This is what the Lord Jesus taught us:

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? And Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”

Matthew 22:36-39

These two ingredients result in life and happiness because you understand that you have a Father who takes care of you. Death doesn’t scare you anymore and you will be loved. Focus on God and serving your neighbour and you will have the cocktail of eternal life.
