WAS YOUR DREAM TORN FROM YOU? DO THIS…

Jesus gave us valuable guidance for moments of pain, anguish, loss, and tears. When we face these difficult days, what should we do? There is only one way: watch the video on how to react correctly on bad days.

Once, the Lord Jesus went to have a meal at Levi’s house, who came to become one of the disciples, who became known as Matthew. He worked for Rome, even though he was Jewish. You have to understand that a publican was worse than a sinner; they were considered traitors to the Jewish people.

And there were scribes and Pharisees murmuring. “Then they said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John fast often and make prayers, and likewise those of the Pharisees, but Yours eat and drink?” (Luke 5:33).

We see the futility of the comparisons because whoever asked the question was comparing the disciples of the Lord Jesus with the disciples of others. Understand that 99% of comparisons are useless because each person is unique. Comparing one person with another can even be harmful because you expect something in one person that you see in another. Comparisons are useless practices.

See, for example, how Jesus replied: “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them?” (Luke 5:34) The wedding party at that time was very different from what we have today. The groom was separated from the bride, and he had his friends. That pre-wedding period was full of joy (unlike the idea we have today with the “stag party”, that marriage is a burden). When the groom prepared for the wedding, he was happy. He would become a real man, be respected, and have his own family (a mentality utterly different from today’s).

Jesus said the disciples did not need to fast because the “Bridegroom” (Himself) was with them. Imagine being part of the most privileged group in human history. So were the disciples, who had been with Him for about three years.

And He continued: “But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast in those days” (Luke 5:35). He was talking about His own death and that He would be torn from the disciples.

Jesus shows us that fasting is a resource we have when joy is torn from us.

I don’t know what moment you’re living in. Maybe everything is fine with your life right now. But it may be that something has been torn from you. Many of you had the “bridegroom” torn from your life on the day of loss, pain, disappointment, and frustration (and we are all subject to going through these moments in life).

However, Jesus teaches us to fast and resort to faith. Instead of crying, what do you have to do? You have to fast, pray, read the Word of God, go to church, and react. Otherwise, the pain will devour you.

If you’re okay, thank God. Don’t be filled with glory. But if it’s not your case, plunge fervently into spiritual “weapons” because they are the ones that will help you. And, very soon, you will have a testimony to give about all this.

Meditate on this and check out the entire message in the video above.
