WHAT I SAW THIS MORNING (YOU CAN ALSO SEE)
God's eyes are on you to care, watch over, direct and provide what you need; however, the decision to trust Him, as the birds do, is yours!
This morning, I was observing the Temple of Solomon’s garden and saw birds coming to a tree with small red fruits; they came happily, pecked at the fruits and took them away. It was an incredible scene that brought a passage from the Lord Jesus to mind.
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:25,26).
Anxiety is one of the biggest problems facing human beings these days. Jesus drew our attention to how the Heavenly Father cares for the birds and the flowers in the field. He takes care of things that no one takes care of. And you see this in nature. Usually, when you see an animal suffering in nature, it is because of human action or greed.
Then, the Lord Jesus asks, “Are you not of more value than they?” In other words, the human being is the masterpiece of all of God’s creation. It was something He created in His image and likeness. We are God’s main creation. When He looks at our universe, planet, and all the beauty He has created, His eyes go to us. It’s like a father or mother watching their children playing in the park. The eyes of the father and mother are only on their children. So is God with us.
You ask, “If God looks at me like that, why am I suffering?” Maybe you haven’t looked to Him, following His ways. The sky, the sea and what God created obey their limits, but the human being (even though they are a masterpiece) is the only one who does not obey. And because of this rebellion comes chaos.
Understand: God does not impose Himself on people. He will never force you to love Him. He gave us free will. And when the person expresses the will to put God on the sidelines, He will be on the sidelines. But the truth is that He wants to care and add what you need in your life.
The Lord Jesus concludes by asking us to seek God first, and the other things will be added. So, what is needed is for you to submit to come under this Heavenly order.
So the next time you pass trees, pay attention: Who houses the birds, feeds them, and protects them? And you will remember this passage.
